It’s time for another Mom Moment Monday! With this Mom Moment I want to talk about my daughter Isabella. She is 5 and just learning how to spell out certain phrases on her own. The night before Thanksgiving we were at my Mother-in-laws house and she came up with a sheet of paper that said “Help Sav The Pandas” She asked us all for our signature and asked if we would help save the pandas. I was so proud of her. We have never talked about this before it was just something she came up with on her own. So after everything was said and done she had about 12 signatures. Then she comes back to the kitchen and announces that our first meeting would be the next day at 3 o’clock at my house. Ummm What? We try to explain that we can’t have it because Thanksgiving is tomorrow, yadda, yadda, yadda. We have to plan these things out. THEN the floodgates open. “But MAMA I just want to help save the pandas!” Ok ok. Well you tell me what we need to. Well she has a piece of paper and wants me to make a list.
- Buy some bamboo and plant it to send to pandas. (Ok I can plant some bamboo)
- Make a t-shirt. (ok I am SURE I can find one online)
- Tell everyone about our club (Can do)
- Last but not least BUY a panda. (ummmm what?)
- 5. BUY A PANDA
I go into the whole we can’t BUY a Panda, but we can go see one at the zoo and send some money to a panda organization. So she asks the perfect 5 year old question with crocidile tears in her eyes, “But WHY?” At this point Nannie interjects, “Well sweetie. They are endangered.” “Nannie, what does endangered mean?” Well, it means there are some mean ppl out there who hurt them.” OH NO here comes the waterworks again. After all was said and done we have finally found a great organization that helps Pandas and she is saving up her money to have a Panda Party. So if you have any spare change around please take a moment to go to Pandas International and help us Donate to Save The Pandas. Or if you would link back to this post. We will keep you updated as to how much we have donated and will document our Save The Pandas Party after Christmas.
