I am sharing some pictures from News Channel 5 to show just how devastating this flood was to Middle Tennessee. Never would I have thought this could happen to where I live. Tornado’s are a give in, but a real modern day flood. I just didn’t think of it.
Beautiful Opyland Hotel, The Opry Mills Mall, and The Opry itself all shut down. All that heritage and culture gone. They will rebuild and fix things, but still it hearts my heart.
In a previous post I showed you what my yard looked like while it was still raining. In all total we had about 2-3 inches in our downstairs area, laundry room, and basement. The good things are that the living area was unfinished so we just had to throw out the carpet, a little wood, and a dresser. The laundry room amazingly is ok. Both the washer and dryer work woohoo! The basement we lost some yard sale stuff I had set out, but that’s ok. The worst thing we lost is our AC/Heater Unit. So hopefully we can get that fixed. I know quite a few who have lost everything. I’m just grateful and amazed that we didn’t get a lot of damage.
A lot of the Country Music Singers are having concerts where the money donated will benefit the flood victims. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s is Nashville Rising. You can also make a donation on the website. Please keep those who suffered a great loss from the flood in your hearts.
