“An undeniable presence in the 1980s, Dee Snider is instantly recognizable as the front man of heavy metal band Twisted Sister. But really, he’s just one of six – a regular guy navigating life in the suburbs of New York with his powerhouse wife, Suzette, and their four kids. They are an off-beat but tight-knit family with children who are fiercely independent and strong-willed: Jesse is an aspiring rock musician, husband and new father; Shane is the resident comic; Cody’s a budding filmmaker; and Cheyenne is daddy’s little girl, making the tough transition to teenager. They’re a rock-solid family of unique individuals not afraid to speak their minds. Despite their father’s rock star status, they are just like every other family… only not at all.”
When I first heard that Dee Snider from Twisted Sister was going to have a reality show I thought what everyone else thought. “Another reality show?” I mean really every network has some form of reality show on them anymore. However, I must raise my guilty hand that I get caught up in them. Growing Up Twisted reminds me of The Osbournes and Gene Simmons Family Jewels, but in a different way. All of the Snider’s have a strong personality so from the very first pilot episode you can see some tension, but they are able to work through it. They just work through it with rock star style.
From the very first episode you can see that the Snider family are all about sticking together and being a family. From Shane’s stand up act to Cody’s almost getting into a fight. Jesse’s Christening song was beautiful. I’m definitely excited to see where the story goes and can’t wait to see what direction the kids music goes. Have you tuned in yet? If so what do you think? If you haven’t go over to: http://www.aetv.com/growing-up-twisted/episode-guide/ to check out the first few episodes.
***I was offered a DVD to preview a couple of episodes, but all opinions are my own.***
