I’ve always been a fan of Lifetime Movies since I was a young girl. A Lifetime Movie isn’t just for women it’s for everyone. My husband enjoys them just as much as I do. When I first saw the preview for Bond Of Silence I immediately put it on my DVR schedule to record. Kim Raver was the star and I have been a fan of hers from Third Watch, to 24, and more recently Grey’s Anatomy. I had not heard the story on which Bond Of Silence is about, but do know that it’s inspired by True Events.
From the start if the movie it seems like your typical small town. All the teenagers are getting ready to throw a party at Shane’s house since his parents are out of town on New Year’s Eve. Who hasn’t done that right? This particular small town has your normal cliques. The “cool” kids, The “bad” kids, and the kids who don’t fit in. Then things go wrong. With all the noise going on Bob Mcintosh and his 2 friends decide to go across the street to tell the kids to calm it down a little. They split up hoping to cover more ground. While 3 adults go in. Something terrible happens and Bob doesn’t make it out.
It’s unclear what happened at first, but as the movie goes on you get a sense of what occured. As a mother and a wife I would act the same way that Katy acted. I would go to whatever lengths necessary to find out what happened to the man I love. Bond of Silence also lets you see into that “group” mind that teenagers have and shows how quickly one thing can escalate into something terrible. It also shows how teenagers view “Rats” and “Snitches”. It’s a tragic tale of something that should not have happened and how one woman fought for the truth. Make sure to check it out on Monday August 23 at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT
