Top 10 Vampire Novel or Series Books I Have Read

Been a bit since I did a book of the day post so here’s a list of my top 10 Favorite novels or series about vampires. There good vampires, bad vampires, handsome ones, ugly ones. You name it I’ve read it lol Now it’s your turn!

If you are a true vampire lover you must start with Dracula The woe filled tale of Mina and her husband Jonathon and Dracula himself. You will love it. SINGLE BOOK

The Radleys: A Novel is a fun book that grabs you and won’t let you stop until finished. Its about a family who has a disease. At least that’s what the kids are. Actually they are abstaining vampires. Of course something happens and the secret is revealed. Very different take on vampire books. SINGLE BOOK

Black Dagger Brotherhood, boxed set: Dark Lover, Lover Eternal, Lover Awakened, Lover Unbound, Lover Revealed, Lover Enshrined. This is 1-6. Each book takes on a different “brother” and goes through his story. They are fighting off Lessers who smell like baby powder and trying to find a mate. Let me tell you heavily muscled, heavily tattooed vampires are a pretty yummy thing to read. SERIES: Currently 9 books out

Stephen King has no pretty vampires in this book. Salem’s Lot makes you remember vampires are actually monsters. SINGLE BOOK

Laurell K. Hamilton Box Set features the first 4 Anita Blake Vampire Hunter books in it. Anita Blake has gun, knives, and maybe an RPG and she knows how to use them. She’s also a necromancer and brings the dead back to life on her dayjob. Her other job is the Executioner. Let me warn you there is quite a bit of naughtiness once you get past the first 4 books and I mean NAUGHTY! SERIES: Currently 20 books

With The Strain: Book One of The Strain Trilogy you go back to vampires as being these evil evil creatures. I kept my night light on after the first reading of this one and the last book is coming out later this month. The thing that got me is how visual every scene in the book is. I guess that happens when one of the writers is a movie director. TRILOGY: 2books currently out.

I know what your thinking. A Discovery of Witches: A Novel? Isn’t that a book about witches. Well yes it is, but it’s MORE. I didn’t know anything going in about this book and I could not put it down. It took me to a new story and a new type of both vampire and witch with an easy grace. SERIES: Right now just this book is current out. No info on next book release date.

Let Me In goes right along the line of being too much. A little girl as the main vampire and you immediately know this book will take you over any edge you had You will be disturbed, but if you can past that it’s a great book. SINGLE BOOK

To get you started in the Sookie Verse you can get the Sookie Stackhouse 8-copy Boxed Set (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood). The great thing about this series is it has something for everyone. A bit of REAL vampires with fangs, a bit of humor, a bit of mystery, and a dash of sexiness. I’ve read and re-read this series and of course watch True Blood as well. SERIES 11 Books Currently out

I left The Passage: A Novel for last because if there’s any book I want you to try out of this list it’s this one. This book is EPIC. Sooo much happens in this book, yet your never lost. Grab on and feel this book Explore the dakness and the Light within each charter. The vampires in this book were made by humans and you can guess what happens next. They key is Amy. You’ll figure out who she is in the book. TRILOGY: Just the first book out now. Next book called The Twelve out in 2012

Have you read any of these books or would you like to add a Vampire Book or Series for me to read?

I LOVE Sookie Stackhouse novels. Better than Twilight and better than the TrueBlood series. I’ll have to check out some of your other options that I haven’t read yet.

I have to admit, I was really curious about your list and what would be on it. I am so glad you didn’t list Twilight. LOL.

Nope no Twilight lol Although I have read the series a couple of times and seen all the movies it’s just not Top 10 material. Her writing is actually pretty bad and Eric beats Edward any day 😉

I’m surprised there’s no Anne Rice in there. I have the Sookie Stackhouse books but still haven’t read them. I probably should start soon while True Blood isn’t on so I don’t get confused.
