Our insurance company is trying to make us get all of our medicine through mail order. I’m not sure if I want to. My pharmacist knows me. We chit chat about my family and his family. He asks if I have any questions? We have a relationship. I enjoy that. If I have a quick medical question I’ll just ask him what medicine he thins would be the best. Which if I switched to mail order all of that would go away. I feel like if I go to mail order my meds will just go down the line of conveyors and my prescription would be filled by someone who has no idea who I am. MI understand that pharmacy automation is a goal, but what about the smaller pharmacies? They are already struggling and if I give in I feel like I’m adding a nail in their coffin. Ugggh. It’s a problem I keep going back and forth on. My insurance company assures me of the material handling system, and I agree it might be easier and of course it would be cheaper. What do you do? Do you still go to a smaller pharmacy or does your prescriptions come via the mail man? Let me know in the comments. I’m curious.
