One of the first things I noticed about this film is the music. The music brings this film to like and harkens the family on screen and you the watcher back to good times. When Chris Pine’s character Sam first emerges on screen he’s definitely Mr. Mean. A smooth talker who can usually get what he wants. The kind of man that could sell ice cream to an Eskimo. Then we get hit with the news that his father died……and he has a sister he never knew about.
Every family has secrets. When they come out it’s how you react to them that makes you. They can make a family stronger or break them and People Like Us takes that secret and makes things complicated.
We meet Frankie (Elizabeth Banks) the sister who grew up without her dad and had a rough time of it. She has a son named Josh (Michael Hall D’Addario) who comes in and manages to steal every scene he’s in. What follows is an Epic story of Family and how that Family goes through life and accepts each other. People Like Us is one of those movies that sneaks up on you and leaves you breathless. A Definite MUST See!
