Disney Films from 2012

2012 Disney Movies of The Year

Disney had an incredible year in 2012. Some of my favorite movies were released and now have been nominated for various awards. I thought it would be a good time to look back at all those movies and the fun I had helping promote each one.

CHIMPANZEE one sheet

Chimpanzee brought us the story of Oscar. I attended the fun Mommy Blogger Spring Break at the #DisneyGlobalEvent for the film. Not only did I meet the one and only Dr. Jane Goodall, but we interviewed The McClain Sisters and the Directors. Check out the posts to remember Chimpanzee:

Next up it was the movie that broke records AND is nominated for an Oscar for Visual Effects (which it’s a no brainer that it will win)….The Avengers. I had soooo much fun helping promote this film. From baking cooking in the early morning hours to flying to New York for #TheAvengersEventand attending the Tribecca Film Festival. There was also this time I fell and Loki caught me. You can read all about The Avengers here:

People Like Us was one of the most heartfelt movies of the year last year. It’s a DreamWorks film and we had the opportunity to interview the Director Alex Kurtzman. HE made us all tear up. Imagine 20+ Moms watching this after days of missing their kids.

Next came BRAVE. A Pixar film like no other. You had Merida a strong willed young girl who didn’t want to be married off. She wanted her own destiny. BRAVE is nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. I went up to the place where the magic happens…PIXAR! IT was such an amazing experience. Everyone loved their job and excited about the film. I learned quite a bit of how a film like this was made and even got to shoot a bow and arrow which was totally wicked. For the premiere it was a green grass Scottish fun filled event. Truly a magical time which I wrote about quite a bit:

I had seen bits and pieces of Timothy Green for a few months before I actually previewed the movie. I was skeptical of the film. A kid with leaves? Seriously? I can officially say I was 100% wrong and LOVED this film. I was a blubbering mess after watching it. It’s very inspiring:

All the Beverly Hills Chihuahua movies are adorable. I was able to meet the real deal dog actresses and actors and learn all about how fun it is to direct them.

Frankenweenie. The movie that brought back stop motion animation and black and white films. With Tim Burton head of this film it was full of creepy goodness. I interviewed some of the young men who were the voice talent and also walk down the white carpet where I photobombed Winona Ryder. Sooo much fun! All for a movie that has recently been playing over and over on repeat on the Blu-Ray. PLUS< Frankenweenie was nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature!!

Another Oscar nominated film for Best Feature! Wreck-It-Ralph wrecked into our hearts and was my favorite animated film of 2012. I literally saw it 4 times in the theaters and could have easily watched it again. I went behind the scenes at Disney Animation Studios and had a fun day making my own candy car and doing a voiceover where my southern voice was actually just the bratty voice I needed. Check out the posts below:

Tinker Bell movies are always adorable. We were able to screen this one and Mr. John Lasseter himself popped and said hi! It was a pinch myself moment. In this film Tinker Bell found out she has a sister. It was also on repeat for quite a bit after we received it int he mail.

Last, but not least by any means was Lincoln. I was one of the first 100 people to screen this movie! It’s one of those that leaves you speechless. Daniel Day Lewis performance alone wisked you back in time. Every single actor in this film brought so much to their roles. Which is why it’s the MOST nominated film at the Oscars this year!! A booming 12 nominations! I have a feeling Mr. Spielberg will be sweeping up awards all season long.

Here’s my posts for all the re-releases in 3D and also Arriety & John Carter:

I hate to say it but we haven’t seen a lot of these yet., but I can’t wait to see some of them! I really want to see Chimpanzee but I’m afraid it will make me cry. My daughter also really wants to see Brave too and Lincoln looks great! I’ve been thinking of having a giant movie party over spring break to catch up on all of these it should be fun!

I did love the Avengers! It was one of my favorite movies of the year. I think Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man is so funny and the action was great. Of course, I’m partial as well because certain scenes were filmed in Cleveland!
