My birthday is February 13th and I’m getting one of the best presents I’ve ever had. I’m flying out to LA to attend the Red Carpet Premiere of Oz: The Great and Powerful! I’ve been waiting not so patiently for this movie to come out. I’m a huge Oz fan in general and this take on it as a prequel has me super jacked! I’ve had the oppertunity to attend a few premieres and it never gets old. The mad rush of people. The flashing of the cameras. Catching a glimpse of your favorite actors and actresses and just all the good energy in the air. It’s a rush! Here’s a synopsis of the movie if you aren’t familiar with it:
Disney’s fantastical adventure “Oz The Great and Powerful,” directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved wizard character. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well.
While in LA we will be staying at the gorgeous Langham Huntington Hotel which is where I stayed for the Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 press event, but this time I can focus on pampering myself. I’ll definitely share all the ins and outs of this magnificent hotel with you all when I get back.
We will also be heading over to the Disney Animation Studios for the Oscar Nominated Wreck It Ralph DVD Press Day. It will be plenty busy and I want you all to follow along on twitter by using the #DisneyOzEvent hashtag. The other 24 bloggers and myself will be tweeting up a storm with pictures from the carpet and answers from the cast! Want to keep up with all Oz updates? Check out the Oz The Great and Powerful website then Make sure your following Disney Oz Movie on Twitter and you “Like” the Oz the Great & Powerful Fan Page.
