If your headed to or already in Myrtle Beach here’s something you should add to your to-do list: The SkyWheel. All 4 of us piled into a gondola and went high above Myrtle Beach. We went at night to get the optimum feel with the lights and it was breathtaking. I’ll admit it was a bit scary at the top, but your enclosed in an air conditioned unit that’s pretty big space wise. We opted for the one that has a bottom. If your on the brave side then you should try out the glass bottom gondola! You could see the lights and fun of Myrtle Beach along with miles and miles of ocean. It was a great, relaxing, yet exhilarating experience and I’d definitely do it again!

FAQ

How Long is the Flight?
A flight is three revolutions, so it’s usually about 8-10 minutes in total.

Do you Allow Pets?
We love all of our four legged friends, but unfortunately we only allow service animals on board.

Are infants Welcome on Flights?
Certainly! In fact, children age 2 and under fly for free.

How Many People Fit in the Gondola At A Time?
Anywhere from 2-6 people can fly at one time. For the VIP flight, up to 4 can fly. And don’t worry – if there are just a few of you, no strangers will be put in with you. Each flight is your own private experience!

Where is the best place to park?
If you’d like the easiest access to the SkyWheel, there is a paid parking lot right next door. Unfortunately, we don’t own this lot so we can’t control the prices. If you’re just making a quick visit and have a handful of change, there are some metered spots all along Ocean Boulevard to grab.

FYI-Look around and you will find cheaper places with a little bit of a walk!

Is the SkyWheel Wheelchair Accessible>
Yes, definitely!

Hours of Operation?
Our current hours of operation as of 6/01/2013 are 11 a.m. to Midnight! Unless, of course, there is inclement weather or lightning. Your safety is our top priority! Please call the ticket office at 843-839-9200, for more information.

I went to Myrtle Beach when I was a senior in high school but haven’t been back since. I’d love to take a family trip down to swim in the ocean again. Not sure I could do the SkyWheel since I don’t do well with heights but maybe my hubby and the kids could go on it. lol

Glass bottom gondola? No thank you! I would’ve chosen the other option as well! I’ve always wanted to visit Myrtle Beach. That’s definitely an American destination.
