***Disclosure: I saw this movie at a screening for a review.***
About The Film:
ONE DIRECTION: THIS IS US is a captivating and intimate all-access look at life on the road for the global music phenomenon. Weaved with stunning live concert footage, this inspiring feature film tells the remarkable story of Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis’ meteoric rise to fame, from their humble hometown beginnings and competing on the X-Factor, to conquering the world and performing at London’s famed O2 Arena. Hear it from the boys themselves and see through their own eyes what it’s really like to be One Direction.
Directed by Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) and produced by Simon Cowell, Adam Milano, Spurlock and Ben Winston.
If you saw Isabella’s Reaction then you know that we hear One Direction quite a bit in this house. So for the screening of the movie it was Isabella, my niece, my mother in law, and I. Let me preface this by saying that this movie had it all. It had funny moments, heartfelt moments, singing, and really showed the boys as everyday guys trying to deal with all this. The title couldn’t have summed it up better: “This is Us” shows the boys in regular every day life.
I think I enjoyed watching the girls’ reaction more than anything. They squealed with delight when the boys were shirtless, laughed at them being cheeky, and sang a long to every song. (ok I may have sang too, but hey I was in the moment) The 3D aspects of the film were PHENOMENAL. I mean WOW. It really was like being at a concert and it was so seamless. Morgan Spurlock really did an amazing job at directing this film and it left everyone feeling more connected with the boys as well.
Bottom Line, Boy Bands come and go, but these boys will crawl into your hearts and I have a feeling they will be around for years to come! So even if your not a One Direction Fan watch this movie. I promise you’ll me a Directioner by the time it’s over.
Isabella’s (9) Review:
“This is my favorite movie ever. I felt like I was at a concert when they were singing and even tried to reach out at them. My cousin and I were singing the songs too. My favorite is Louis, but I like them all. I want to watch this movie over and over and can’t wait till I have it on DVD.”
