I’m SUPER Happy to Announce that I’m a member of the NETFLIX #STREAMTEAM. This month is Bullying Prevention Month and both Netflix and I are here to share our favorite movies to help start a conversation about bullying with your kids.
My kids are older. They are 9 and 12. We’ve talked about bullying many times. Both what to do if you are bullied or see someone being bullied as well as NOT being a bully. As a family we sat down and streamed The Fat Boy Chronicles from netflix via our Apple TV.
Overweight teenager Jimmy Winterpock transfers to a new school, where he’s mercilessly bullied by classmates. After he starts keeping a journal that puts him in touch with his feelings, he resolves to lose weight and win the girl of his dreams
Both of the kids enjoyed this movie and was a little sad for Jimmy in the beginning. It’s a great underdog story that also is helpful to start or even continue the conversation about bullying.
