Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind “Tangled” and “Wreck-It Ralph,” presents “Frozen,” a stunning big-screen comedy adventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (voice of Josh Gad), Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom. The film is directed by Chris Buck (“Tarzan,” “Surf’s Up”) and Jennifer Lee (screenwriter, “Wreck-It Ralph”), who also wrote the screenplay. It is produced by Peter Del Vecho (“Winnie the Pooh,” “The Princess and the Frog”). Featuring original songs from Tony® winner Robert Lopez (“The Book of Mormon,” “Avenue Q”) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (“In Transit,” “Winnie the Pooh”), and an original score by Christophe Beck (“The Muppets,” Oscar®-winning short “Paperman”), “Frozen” hits theaters in 3D on Nov. 27, 2013.
Frozen jumps out of the screen and into your imagination within the first few moments on screen. The colors, the 3D, the characters, and especially the songs. I’ve been listeining to the soundtrack on repeat for over a week now. This Disney Princess story is different. Princess Anna isn’t your typical beautiful princess longing for a handsome prince to take her away. She’s clumsy, she talks fast….she could be any little girl. All she wants is to be close with her sister who has pulled away from some reason unknonw to her. (You will see, but Anna can’t remember)
As they grow up it’s time for Princess Elsa’s coronation day and *spoiler alert* something happens and sets off her magical powers and she turns into the Snow Queen. We meet lots of fun sidekicks along the way, but they are not the only ones who brings the laughs. Frozen is full of heart and brings to the screen an act of true love that’s not the Disney normal. I’ll admit I did get teary eyed since I do have a sister and could relate to that.
Everything in this film will make your jaw drop and it’s going to be one of the classics. I can’t wait to take the kids. I know my Isabella will want to meet them the next time we are at Disney. So if your looking for a good family friendly movie to watch after stuffing yourself full of turkey go check out Disney’s FROZEN which hits theaters TODAY!
