**DID YOU KNOW**
CK Mondavi is the only American made/grown wine in the “supermarket wine under $10” category?! CK Mondavi wine is sold nationwide in every US state. Which makes it the perfect wine to grab while out buying groceries for a Wine Wednesday.
I tried the Wildcreek Canyon CK Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon and the Willow Creek CK Mondavi Chardonnay. Here are my thoughts on both:
Wildcreek Canyon CK Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon:
The Cabernet Sauvignon has a classically deep red color and is rich with cherry and blackberry flavors that are perfectly balanced with a hint of oak and a long fruit finish.
Personally I prefer a lighter wine, but my husband loved this. I could definitely taste the blackberry and the oak. This is a great wine to pair with a hearty meal like a steak, lamb, heavy pastas, and.or chicken. If you are a fan of a good classic red this one is for you
Willow Creek CK Mondavi Chardonnay:
The Chardonnay is medium-bodied with a hint of oak. Aromas of lemon and citrus combined with flavors of apple and pear lead to a delightfully crisp finish.
THIS was by far my favorite. I love a good crisp citrus wine . I could also tell the hint of oak, but only slightly. This is a great wine to just sip on at the end of a long day. You could also pair it with roasted chicken, seafood, & hearty cheeses.
Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund
CK Mondavi is run by the legendary Napa Valley wine icon, Peter Mondavi Sr., a World War II veteran. So in keeping with his service the family continues to help fallen heroes through the IFHF Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF), an organization that supports the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. Funded entirely by public donations, IFHF serves U.S. military personnel wounded or killed in service to our nation and their families. How? A percentage of each bottle sold between May – August is donated to Intrepid Fallen Heroes (up to $50,00).
CK Mondavi Story
Committed to producing wines of uncompromising quality, Cesare and Rosa Mondavi moved to the Napa Valley and purchased the Charles Krug Winery in 1943. Winemaking was an important part of their Italian heritage and together with their sons Robert and Peter, they created CK Mondavi – a line of wines offering both tremendous quality and value. CK Mondavi began with a vision and commitment to produce high quality wines worthy of gracing the tables of families across America. Seventy years later, this vision continues.
Today, CK Mondavi remains one of the most successful wine brands in America because of its excellent quality and great value. We harvest grapes at their peak of ripeness from prime California vineyards, including our family-owned vineyards in the Dunnigan Hills AVA, creating wines with fully developed flavors. We produce nine different wines to offer our consumers a broad range of choices for everyday occasions. From a simple picnic or family dinner, to parties, romantic evenings or book clubs, CK Mondavi produces wines for every occasion.
