Captain America: The Winter Soldier HITS theaters today with a bang you will want to see! So grab the family and go check out the latest installment in the MARVEL franchise. You will NOT be disappointed!
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.
Everyone brings their A game to this film and it picks up right after The AVENGERS. You see Steve Rogers and how he is coping with being CAPTAIN AMERICA and working for S.H.I.E.L.D. and Director Nick Fury, but everything is not as it seems. The villainy within is a conspiracry that harkens back to the great 70’s political thrillers. Of course, having Robert Redford in a starring role might help a bit. The action is jam packed in this sequel and it’s more hand to hand fighting and car chases. You will be on the edge of your seat the entire time.
Scarlett Johansson brings her feminine wiles and also a peek behind the Black Widow to Natasha which is great for both the comic fans and us women.
The Winter Soldier himself is someone from Steve’s past….I want spoil it if you don’t know, but he can match Captain America punch for punch which makes it an interesting fight both in physical terms and in the mental areas. This film is definately a different tone from the other MARVEL films, but as a fan myself I’m loving it. I can always count on being both entertained and learning more about the MARVEL universe.
