Simple Service Projects
First, I know your asking What is a Simple Service Project?
Every SIMPLE Service Project has 4 basic steps:
- GATHER your friends, family, and co-workers.
- LEARN about the needs of children in your community.
- GIVE items to help kids enjoy happier & healthier lives.
- SHARE your story with us to inspire others.
Champions for Kids makes it simple to give children in local communities the resources they need to thrive. When school lets out for the summer, millions of children lose access to the school breakfasts, lunches and after-school snacks they receive during the regular school year. So our Simple Service Project was simple…With Jennie-O’s help we hosted a Fiesta to Feed Families Taco Party!
The kids only needed a reason for us to have a fiesta. They love when Dad makes turkey tacos. Dad loves it because it’s a healthier option and I love it because I don’t have to cooke. PLUS, they love to give to others who are in need of it so to showcase what we were doing they made a quick vine:
I think it’s never to early to help your children give back to the community and understand both the value of a dollar and that not everyone has the same circumstances in life. Over the years, I’ve watched my kiddos develop into wonderful people who care and love to give back.
We donate regularly to a local shelter. The kids give everything from food to old toys etc. I like to give “bathroom packs” such as toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant, etc. Regardless of how you and your family decided to help the bottom line is you ARE helping. The littlest things can make a person smile.
So Big Daddy to the rescue. He Made out Taco Bar scrumptious and we all went back for seconds….ok maybe thirds.
What about you? IS a Fiesta in your future? How about a Pancake BReakfast? The possibilities are endless! What’s your Simple Service Project going to be? Take a pledge with your family and do something together this weekend! Make sure to share your story HERE.
