About The Show
Chasing Life follows twenty-something April (Italia Ricci), a smart and quick-witted aspiring journalist, who is trying to work her way up the ladder at a Boston newspaper by trying to impress her hard-nosed editor. When not pursuing the latest scoop, April tries to balance her ambitious career with her family – her widowed mom Sara, rebellious little sister Brenna and her grandmother. Just as things start to look up at work, home and on the romance front with co-worker Dominic, April gets the devastating news from an estranged uncle that she has cancer.
Sometimes you cath an episode of a show you’ve never seen and it impacts you. To me a good show makes me feel. Good, Bad, Mad, or Sad. As long as I’m intrigued and feeling it’s a hit to me. That being side Chasing Life is one of those shows. Make sure to Tune in TONIGHT at 9:00pm ET/PT on ABC Family! Here are 6 reasons why you SHOULD be watching this show if you are not:
Italia Ricci always had a burning desire to be in the entertainment business. She started at a young 9 years old. She’s the lead in the show, playing April Carver. She doesn’t just act….She becomes her character. When chatting with her she talked about how she “sometimes feels guilty since I can turn the cancer off when I go home.” She is so full of heart and answers every single fan mail and message herself. She makes this show have heart and give you the feels like I mentioned before.
She has an AWESOME Best Friend
Everyone loves a good best friend. One who you can tell your secrets to, one who makes you laugh, one who makes you live life to the fullest, and one who makes you think. Beth Kingston played by Aisha Dee makes us all wish we had her as a best friend.
On some shows you just don’t have that “it factor”. Yes, April has a lovely boyfriend, but every time Leo Hendrie played by Scott Michael Foster walks into the room he takes it over. Yes, I ship for the other guy. The chemistry between these two is undeniable.
The Message this show brings is awesome. From the title to every episode. Chasing Life…..not being burdened with cancer. They empower young people to live life. They even support causes like:
Stupid Cancer’s OMG! Cancer Summit in NYC this September 27th. This is a FREE one-day event for young adult cancer patients, survivors and caregivers (15-39) as well as long-term childhood cancer survivors. Limited spacing. Reserve your spot today at http://omgeast.org/ and we’ll see you there
