Who doesn’t love Kristen Bell. This girl can do a million things and rocks at every singe one of them:
Coordinating the #NoKidsPolicy CHECK
This Bag Saves Lives was the next step in their “belief that give back for profit companies are kind of the way of the future”. This Bar Save Lives had been so well accepted that it was the next step.
“In the initial conversation about forming this company, This Bar Saves Lives, The concept had been, what if there was a time where we had one of every product? And people were allowed to make a informed social choice? They could buy what they wanted to buy or they could buy this one that also shared. We always wanted to have a give back catch to every product we ever came out with so in our brainstorming session we would have, This Water saves lives or this T-shirt saves lives and the possibilities were infinite and This Bag Saves lives was um one of the early ideas and the perfect, I thought, response to um I think now over ninety cities banning the plastic bags um. LA passed the ban on the plastic bags in the grocery stores and mini marts and larger stores last June which is really when we sort of jump started the idea of This Bag Saves Lives cause now people actually need the bags more than ever.”
So what exactly IS this Bag?
Co-designed by Kristen Bell and their friends at Apolis, this classic jute tote is the perfect companion at the farmer’s market, independent bookstore, or beach. Sustainably handcrafted by artisans in Bangladesh, these totes are 100% vegan, made from recycled materials, and feature a waterproof lining to protect your fresh veggies and cold vino.
For each bag sold, we provide life-saving malaria treatment to someone in need. How much is it? $28.00 and you can BUY IT HERE
What’s the give back?
It’s an easy and cost-effective way to empower consumers to help stop malaria from claiming innocent lives by offering life-saving treatment with each purchase. To distribute the treatment, we’ve partnered with FIMRC (Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children) who have been working hard to help the over 200 million people suffering from malaria worldwide.
As Kristen says: “Malaria is so on the brink of a solution at this point. It just needs a little bit of a push over the edge. Vaccines are in very very very early stages. Fingers crossed that one of those come out and we don’t even need to have this give back anymore.Malaria is simple to eradicate, but it’s a devastating disease if you don’t have access to medical treatment”
So hop on over to This Bag Saves Lives and buy your bag today…buy a bar while you are at it.
What is it? Hop on over to HuffPo where Kristen’s husband Dax shares “Why Our Children Should Be Off Limits to the Paparazzi” to get the nitty gritty. Basically it’s a policy in which media outlets would agree not to publish photographs of children without their parent’s permission As a mom myself it really makes me stop and think. What if random people kept coming up to us on a day we were at a playground or shopping and kept taking pictures. Instantly, my mama bear tendencies would come out. I see the point of this and I realize how important it is.
Yes, I have a guilty pleasure to the weekly magazines, however now I can make an informed choice. I choose to buy People because they support the No Kids Policy.

Kristen just recently gave birth to her second child Delta. In fact when asked what was next for her she joked, “My left breast”. She acknowledged the challenge from going from one child to two. The Biggest challenge?
“The biggest challenge is making the right decisions for the toddler, figuring out when will she be most affected by the decisions we make for the baby. A wiser mother told me, if both are crying, pick the toddler up first, because she will remember. It’s also making sure the toddler is an active participant in caring for baby.”
She also said she is not going to take on any new projects for awhile besides her commitment to House Of Lies. Kudos to you Kristen. You’ve got the multitasking mom thing on lock!
