While in Disney World a few weeks back for the #MonkeyKingdomEvent we were able to experience lunch at Sanaa. I love trying out all of the different restaurants like this and Be Our Guest in Disney World. You always get a full Disney experience, great food, friendly people, and you try something new.
Located in the Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Sanaa is a treat for the senses. You can spot wild animals roaming the savanna as you feast on savory home-style cooking infused with the flavors of Africa and India.
Our menu was the famous “Dine with Animal Specialists“. Learn about the animals roaming just outside the windows of Sanaa, as you savor a 4-course feast.
We started our meal with Indian-style bread service with accompaniments. as soon as I announced on twitter that I was easting here people kept telling me about this bread service and WHOA. I could possibly just eat it for my meal. You get 3 different bread options: Naan (made fresh!), Paneer, and Onion Kucha. Then you have great dipping sauces such as: cucumber raita, spicy red chile sambal, red pepper hummus, mango salsa, coconut chutney, tamarind chutney, and spicy-jalapeno lime pickle. Personally I loved the chile sauce then switching it up with cucumber raita. WOW is all I have to say.
Then we had a few different salads:
Then the main course! Butter Chicken & Goan Seafood Curry with Basmati Rice. Heaven on a plate!
Finally we had dessert. This dessert was almost too pretty to eat, but I got over that quickly. Tanzanian Chocolate Mousse, Banana Cheesecake, and something wonderful called Kulfi.
Watch gazelles, zebras, giraffes, kudu, ostriches, cranes and more as you dine.
Over 200 birds and hoofed animals—from over 30 species—reside on the 4 savannas of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. From your table or the nearby overlook, enjoy spectacular views of African wildlife on the lush Sunset Savanna outside. Inside, traditional artisan and market goods like woven baskets, gourds, “love note” necklaces and beaded geckos surround you at every turn.
Overall it’s a great place to have a nice leisurely dinner on the Disney World property. I can’t wait to bring my family!
REMEMBER Monkey Kingdom is IN THEATERS NOW!
Just in time for Earth Day grab the family AND help save the monkeys!
