Touring the Walt Disney Lot you are surrounded by history and memorabilia. Every nook and crannie holds a secret if you have time to look for it. Before we go into the Archives I wanted to show you what was in the Frank G. Wells Building.
Commemorating 75 years of Walt’s “dream factory,” the Walt Disney Archives has unveiled an all-new display exploring the Disney Studio’s rich legacy. The display—which features more than 25 items, including many never-before showcased by the Archives—are available to employees and Cast Members at the Disney Studio, as well as D23 Members and their guests attending D23 Day at the Walt Disney Studios and Archives (April 25, June 20, and November 7) and VIP Studio Tours (May 29 and November 6). For more information head over to D23.
For instance the Walt Disney Archives are here. While at the #TomorrowlandEvent we were able to get a private tour of the Archives and I was over the moon. For this event we focused on Walt’s vision and the early history behind “Tomorrowland”. The nostalgia was high and I just took it all in. We were able to take pictures so here are a few for you to see the magic in this small room on the lot.
I love how they took the idea from the original pin and transformed it into the iconic one for the movie. I have the new pin sitting on my desk. You know, just waiting on me to go to Tomorrowland if needed.
As you can see there are a lot of items in one little room. A Disney Collector’s treasure trove. What intrigues you? What inspires you? What makes you want to go to Tomorrowland?
