The Muppets have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I even had a Gonzo and Kermit dolls growing up that my sister and I would act out the movies with. Yes, even Muppets in Space. I loved the show and movies so much growing up that when I grew up and became a blogger I actually got to MEET the Real Miss Piggy and Kermit at my first ever Disney Event in January 2011. I was so green (hehe) that I didn’t even know how to smile in pictures. It was awesome, amazing, and scary all at the same time.
My job can be weird and crazy sometimes and I can actually say I’ve “known” The Muppets for 4 1/2 years now! I was on set when they were diving back into the movie game with The Muppets. This film showed where the gang had been and got them back together. I was able to see all the intricacies that made The Muppets come to life. There was that one time Miss Piggy shared her Fashion Tips, I attended the press day for The Muppets film and let my inner Animal out and wore cool t-shirts while hanging out with Miss Piggy, Kermit, and the ever so fabulous Jason Segel to name a few.
The film was so successful that of course they had to do a sequel! This time we had a villain who was a double of our beloved Kermie….I mean Kermit except for one small thing. He had a mole. Hijinks ensued of course and this film was a hit as well. I was lucky enough to attend the Muppets Most Wanted Premiere and had a BLAST! I also am better at smiling through pictures now.
Interviewing the Muppets is very surreal. As soon as you sit down in the same room with them your inner kid comes out. This was my second time interviewing Kermit and Miss Piggy, but my first with Constatine. They were delightful and fun! Check out the interview HERE. Overall, it’s been great keeping in touch with The Muppets over the years and I’m happy to share about Their NEXT Big Project!
With The Muppets being so successful at anything they do what would be next for them? A TV show on ABC of course! The very FIRST show is TONIGHT 8pm|7pm Central.
About The Show:
The Muppets return to primetime with a contemporary, documentary-style show. For the first time ever, a series will explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, breakups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires.
I have seen the first two episodes and was laughing quite a bit. I love that the tone is a little more adult. Don’t get me wrong, the kids loved it too. I just enjoyed seeing the “lives of the muppets”. You get to see all of your favorite muppets (Including walter) AND the first two episodes had some amazing celebrity cameos and guest stars. You have the drama of a breakup, the show, the show behind the show, and lots of laughs. This will be a great family night show for Tuesdays. So remember to tune in TONIGHT! 8pm|7pm central!
***Disclosure: I awas able to view the first two episodes for review. All opinions are 100% mine. ***
