Now that Inside Out is availble in stores and through Digital I’m sure a lot of you have already bought it. Have you had a chance to check out the short called Riley’s First Date? It’s a hoot and pick’s up pretty much where we left off. Remember the boy Riley saw while skating? YEP! That guy! A super fun hilarious short ensues. Check out the trailer below:
While out in San Francisco for the #InsideOutBloggers event we spoke with the filmmakers behind the short: Josh Cooley and Mark Nielsen.
Josh shared that he come up with the idea of the short as they were winding down from Inside Out. Then they both spoke a bit about how long it took to make the short from conception to the final product:
Mark: I think it took us probably about 10 months from when Josh first pitched to both Pete and Jonas and then also to John Lasseter, who is our Executive Producer on the film, to the time that we had our final sound mix up at Sky Walker Ranch. About 10 months.
I found that tidbit fascinating. 10 months for a short. Basically the same amount of time it takes for tiny little humans. Another fun fact from our talk:
Josh pitched a Bing Bong short. If you are anything like me you went, “Awwwwww!” at the thought of a Bing Bong short. I think the consensus is that we could all use a little more Bing Bong in our life.
We also had a fun photo opportunity while we were in San Francisco: Basically we were in Riley’s kitchen! So of course myself and my silly friends had to all be emotions! I may have took it a bit far with my sadness look, but a girl must commit to her role!
Don’t forget the film that has us all talking about our emotions is in stores TODAY!! Don’t want to go to the store? That’s ok too. Just hop on over to Amazon and
