I remember being at #D23Expo and first hearing about all of the expansions that were coming to the parks including Star Wars Land. At Disney World last month I was able to experience Star Wars Launch Bay in all it’s glory and let me tell you…I was like a kid I was so excited. I mean we all know the details that Disney puts into everything, but the attention to detail on the super smallest things had me in awe. I can only imagine what the littlest kids think when they see all the magic. So let’s chat about the Launch Bay.
Explore immersive special exhibits and get a peek behind the scenes of the new movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Discover sights, sounds and surprises that are sure to delight any Star Wars fan.
When you first walk in you watch a short film mash up of all of the movies PLUS a bit of the animated and book canon as well. It’s a behind the scenes look with some of your favorite scenes mixed in. THEN….you walk in and in typical Star Wars fashion this meets you:
Get an up-close look at replica props, models, costumes, concept artwork and artifacts from the Star Wars films, including these special galleries:
- Celebration Gallery
- Preview Galley
- Light Side Gallery
- Dark Side Gallery
Meet and Greet
There are plenty of options for the Meet and greet. Characters were walking around and you had your chance to get ready for a rebel rendezvous with the legendary Wookiee warrior Chewbacca. That line was a bit long so we decided to try our luck with Kylo Ren.
Don’t let your guard down; Kylo’s temper is as fiery and volatile as his crackling lightsaber. But, there is a far greater danger—the dark side of the Force can be powerfully alluring. Kylo may attempt to persuade you to join him on his furious quest to rid the galaxy of the Resistance and the remnants of the Jedi Order.
Not much intimidates me, but as you can tell in the first pic Kylo Ren does. He stayed true to Character and I thought for a second he may throw a tantrum. It was EPIC. Geek girl dreams came true.
The artwork and replicas were amazing. Almost everything you saw you could buy. From art to actual costumes. It was crazy.
Inspect a full-size replica of Rey’s Speeder or step inside an intergalactic cantina reminiscent of the famous Mos Eisley cantina. Take a photo as you pretend you’re one of the cantina’s alien scoundrels, play holographic chess, sit at a Sabacc table or mosey up to the bar—complete with a glass of blue bantha milk.

The Launch Bay is just ONE of the new additions coming. I could have spent a couple of hours in there just wandering around. So many great Star Wars moments and things to check out for both the young and the older.
Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular
We also had time to check out Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular. What is it?
The sounds of John Williams’ majestic Star Wars themes fill the air as the sights of twinkling lights fill the sky. Gather your favorite Jedi, Jawas, Wookiees, droids and Ewoks to hear classic Star Wars music along with stirring new themes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
While a dazzling array of colors burst above you, imagine the awe-inspiring sights of exploding starships during a legendary Star Wars space battle. What better way is there to celebrate Star Wars than watching a show written on the stars!
You can also opt in for the Dessert Part we did which in my opinion is sooo worth it. Why?
Enjoy an out-of-this-world selection of ALL YOU CAN EAT desserts and specialty drinks—including alcoholic beverage options. Nibble on Darth Vader cupcakes as you take in an up-close view of the enthralling Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks show.
To remember the very unique evening for a long time (in a galaxy not so far, far away), you’ll receive a souvenir stein featuring one of the most beloved Star Wars characters, Chewbacca.
The Force is strong with this one!
The Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party is offered on multiple nights from January 5, 2016 through March 19, 2016.
The price is $69.00 per adult (age 10 and over) and $39.00 for children (ages 3 to 9); tax and gratuity are included.
The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a
place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But
when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a
police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia,” a comedy-adventure directed by Byron Howard (“Tangled,”“Bolt”) and Rich Moore (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “The Simpsons”) and co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”), opens in theaters on March 4, 2016.
