A couple of weeks ago I headed to San Diego to test drive the All New 2017 Kia Sportage. It was one of the most amazing press trips I’ve been on. Why? The people, the brand, the Sportage, the food, the drinks, the scenery, and lastly the music. Music played an important role in this National Press Introduction. Why? Not just because music is the soundtrack of our life, but also this fun fact:

You guys know me. I’m pretty brand loyal when I’ve found the perfect fit. I’m still willing to try out new things, but Kia is just the Car Brand for me. They strive to be unique and different, but they offer everything you need and what’s important in a vehicle, like safety, technology, and more. The All New Sportage is:
The fourth generation of Kia Motors America’s longest-running nameplate, wraps a stunning and contemporary design around a structure that is both stiffer and more spacious than ever before. Advanced driver assistance technologies, significant suspension and steering improvements, and available intelligent AWD vastly improve the Sportage’s driving dynamics while premium materials and world-class craftsmanship create a class-up experience in an otherwise utilitarian segment.
After learning all about the new features and aspects of the Sportage we took it out the winding roads to push it to the limit. Through the desert of Borrego Springs and the city of San Diego we went on an adventure that included lip syncing (don’t worry I have the hilarious video), jumping cholla cactus (which I told you about previously and YES they do exist), to stunning photo ops and beautiful scenery.
Kia’s hallmark “tiger-nose” grille resides vertically in the front fascia while the headlights are positioned higher, sweeping back along the outer edges of the sharply detailed hood. A lower, wider front clip – enlarged to provide greater engine cooling – adds visual volume to the lower half of the Sportage’s face, resulting in more aggressive countenance
That’s the PERFECT way to describe the All New Sportage. The pick up and go was amazing and the look was simply fierce. You couldn’t get a bad angle on this vehicle. I love everything about the aggressive styling.
Tech + Audio
I love testing out all the new Tech options and not only did I love the new 7 inch screen and UVO3 system, but the system was as we used to say “banging.”
All Sportages come standard with a 160-watt six-speaker audio system. A powerful 320-watt Harman Kardon® premium audio system is also available and features eight speakers including subwoofer, an external amplifier, and Clari-FiTM9 music restoration technology for unrivalled audio quality.
To test out the system we were challenged to do a Lip Synch Video. We went through many options of song choices before finally deciding on this gem of a song we all loathe or love depending on the mood:
A little fun with the HarmanKardon sound system – Kia style #DiscoverSportage

What can I say I’m silly and have even crazier friends. 😉 Come on you know you were rocking out a bit as well and like I said…the system was banging.
Our night ended up with us recreating our video with some fun props via Live Band Karaoke which I’m proud to say I actually have a deep fear of, but had enough drinks and peer pressure that I got up and sang everything out of tune with a huge smile on my face. Like I said before. This was a trip where all the little things added up to this being one of my favorite press trips of all time. So grab some friends, a Kia, some music and go an adventure!
***Disclosure: I attended the #DiscoverSportage Event My flight, lodgings, and expenses were covered by Kia All opinions are 100% mine. ***
