On May 10th Kid President (aka Robby Novak & Brad Montague) landed in Nashville at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to address the issue of child hunger in America and what he’s doing with ConAgra to make a
Why does Kid President believe in this?
Kid President and his brother-in- law and Kid President co-creator, Brad Montague, believe that kids should focus on being more awesome and not have to worry about their next meal, so they hosted a Town Hall in their home state to address the issue of child hunger and how it affects EVERY county in the U.S. ConAgra partnered with Kid President to help bring this important issue to America’s forefront and inspire “kid citizens” and adults to take action. More than one in five children and more than one in four Latino children in the U.S. may not know where their next meal is coming from 1 . That’s more than 15 million children. ConAgra aims to empower a community of people to help change the realities of hunger one meal at a time with a goal to donate one million meals to food insecure kids in 2016 through the Child Hunger Ends Here program. Everyone can easily participate by going to their favorite retailer and looking for the red pushpin and code on specially marked packages of ConAgra’s food, like Marie Callender’s® and Hunt’s®, at your favorite retailer or in your pantry. For each eight-digit code entered at www.childhungerendshere.com from January 2016 through January 2017, ConAgra will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America, up to one million meals.
So Kid President joined the Town Hall attendees and volunteers in assembling food packs for children in the local community. I wished I could have attended, but it looks like everyone who did had an amazing time for an even greater cause.
Child Hunger is extremely important to me and I try to help out to spread the message when I can. Child Hunger happens locally…not just globally. My kids love to go hunting in the grocery store for the “Red Push Pins” and enter the codes online. You can help too! Check out the www.childhungerendshere.com website to learn more. Let’s get to the 1 MILLION mark!
