The movie of the Summer will be swimming into theaters in just a couple of weeks on June 18. To get ready here is this fabulous Finding Dory Recipe.
*11 oz box of vanilla wafer cookies
*1/2 c softened butter
*8 oz softened cream cheese
*1/2 c powdered sugar
*2 – 3.4oz packages of instant vanilla pudding mix
*3 1/2 c milk
*12 oz container of frozen whipped topping(thawed)
*blue food dye(I used gel)
*1 box of Finding Dory fruit snacks
Place the cookies in a food processor and blitz them up until they resemble sand. Set 3/4 c of the crumbs aside for the topping. If you decide to make cups like me, divide the “sand” amongst the cups. If you want to go with a bigger “ocean” like a clean fish bowl or even just a 9×13 glass pan, dump the sand into the bottom and spread it around. It doesn’t have to be perfect since sand can be thicker and thinner, just like in the ocean!
Whisk together both pudding mixes and milk. Fold in the whipped topping and set aside to thicken a bit. In a separate (big) bowl, mix together the cream cheese, butter and powdered sugar. I used my kitchen mixer for this step to get the cream cheese nice and smooth. Add your pudding mixture to the cream cheese mixture and mix until well incorporated. Now is a great time to throw a pea sized gob of royal blue gel food coloring and mix away! (If you just have liquid food color, that’s great too! Just add as much as you want to get the desired color.)
Fill your vessel half way with the “ocean” pudding mixture. Sprinkle Finding Dory fruit snacks all over the ocean. Having your kids help with this step is always fun! (My kids ate a few fish in the process, but we had plenty!) Pour the remaining ocean over top of the fruit snacks. Spread it out evenly or try to create some waves! Remember those sand crumbs you saved earlier? Go ahead and toss them on top! Refrigerate until ready to serve.
BOOM! Just like that you are done and the kids will be super happy! I hope you have fun finding Dory and friends in your ocean!
Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” welcomes back to the big screen everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang Dory (voice of Ellen DeGeneres), who’s living happily in the reef with Marlin (voice of Albert Brooks) and Nemo (voice of Hayden Rolence). When Dory suddenly remembers that she has a family out there who may be looking for her, the trio takes off on a life-changing adventure across the ocean to California’s prestigious Marine Life Institute, a rehabilitation center and aquarium. In an effort to find her mom (voice of Diane Keaton) and dad (voice of Eugene Levy), Dory enlists the help of three of the MLI’s most intriguing residents: Hank (voice of Ed O’Neill), a
cantankerous octopus who frequently gives employees the slip; Bailey (voice of Ty Burrell), a beluga whale who is convinced his biological sonar skills are on the fritz; and Destiny (voice of Kaitlin Olson), a nearsighted whale shark. Deftly navigating the complex inner workings of the MLI, Dory and her friends discover the magic within their flaws, friendships and family. Directed by Andrew Stanton (“Finding Nemo,” “WALL•E”)
, co-directed by Angus MacLane (“Toy Story OFTERROR!”), and produced by Lindsey Collins (co-producer “WALL•E”), Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” swims into theaters June 17, 2016.
