Sometimes life throws a lot at you at once. I had been traveling for work a lot for the first half of the year. I moved, which was a chore as much as it was a blessing. Plus, everyday life at home was stressful. Then I received an offer to head to the Magical Islands of Loreto for a Wellness trip. It couldn’t have happened at a better time. I needed to decompress and enjoy the beauty of the world around me. I had never heard of The Islands of Loreto, but once I was looking at the pictures on the Villa Del Palmar website I became extremely excited. It looked like a gem in the middle of nowhere and I was ready.
I was in LA for a Press Junket so I hopped on a plane and took a quick 2 hour flight. I love that it’s such a quick getaway from LA. The weather was perfect when we landed and I was ready for the adventure to begin!
Then it off to the Villa Del Palmar! When we pulled up I was astonished. It was secluded and off by itself. In the middle of mountains, desert, beach, and the Sea of Cortez. I was also amazed at the size: the resort features 4,447 acres of unspoiled beauty! We were greeted at the door by smiling faces and a Nights of Loreto Drink. Perfection!
We also were coached through a ritual that cleansed away our troubles. I love soaking up the culture of new places and so far the Islands of Loreto was on point.
Then it was off to check out where I would be staying the next few days.
I stayed in one of the affordable and most popular suites offering the utmost in style and convenience. These suites feature a large living area, spacious dining room and fully equipped kitchen to enjoy home-away-from-home comforts, including an oversized terrace to enjoy the stunning views of the Sea of Cortez, aptly nicknamed, “The Aquarium of the World” by Jacques Cousteau.
Now to show you the VIEW. I spent hours just chilling on my deck. Reading, relaxing, sunning, working. Just toenjoy this look. I Facetimed Brian and the kids so they could enjoy it with me. It was serene and peaceful. Exactly what I needed.
Over the next few days, I just focused on getting myself back to a good center. I meditated for the first time (which will be my next post), did some yoga, hiked, took a spectacular boat ride through the sea of Cortez, ate amazing food, tried some juice therapy, and visited the Holistic Wellness Centre by Sabila Spa. I can’t wait to share more of my experiences while in Loreto so be sure to check back in! For now, I will leave you with this gorgeous picture of a few beach chairs by the ocean with the mountains in full view. I spent time reading and relaxing here as well. Overall the Islands of Loreto and the Villa Del Palmar is the perfect getaway for those that are looking for a non-touristy place in Mexico on the Baja side. It has a little bit for everyone and let’s you center yourself.
