I may be a muggle or now a No-Maj, but my family and I are heavily versed in the Harry Potter franchise. We’ve all read every single book, watched all the movies, and even have been to the Wizarding World. so when news first broke that J.K. Rowling was writing a screenplay for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them we all jumped for joy.
Imagine next, that the mailman brought you a mysterious box of goodies to get ready for our family outing.
The year is 1926, and Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident, were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
Until then, I am reading the screenplay in my scarf and wishing magic was real.
***Disclosure: I recieved a gift box from Universal and Big Honcho media, but went to the movies on my own. All opinions are 100% mine. ***
