When we first receive the new that we were going to be learning to ballroom dance with the professional dancer I admit there was a hint of trepidation from me. I LOVE to go dancing, but there is usually some drinks involved and a DJ spinning some tunes where I casually drop it like it’s hot then ask my husband for help back up. There was definitely some intrigue going on in my head about this event.
Meet Alan Bersten
He was one of the top 6 on So You Think You Can Dance. He’s on the dance troupe of Dancing with Stars and currently, he’s filling in for poor Maks on the show with Heather Morris. They are rocking it! Check out their dance one Disney night on the show!
As you can tell Alan can BRING IT! As soon as we met the troupe we split up into smaller groups. In our group, we had 5 bloggers and Alan was our teacher. Again I have had no formal training and had the BEST time. I can really see how people do this all the time and it was challenging, but enough for me to start. It did not help that our teacher was the cute little 23 year old who had a sparkling personality and desire to win. We were going to rock it. He would show us the moves together as a group and also individually.

My dance group members and I had a BLAST! We laughed, we danced, we laughed. You get the picture. Then it was crunch time. We practiced one last time then had to perform:
Full Disclosure: I did mess up a couple of times, but I’m STILL proud of some of my fancy moves. I also think our team won, but we al won by having a super fun time. In fact, I enjoyed so much I’m going to do it again. Just locally. I also plan on watching even MORE of Dancing With The Stars!
