Strap on your seatbelts folks and be prepared to go an epic journey with Thor: Ragnarok. If I could sum up the movie into one sentence it would be that it is an Intergalactic Road Trip of Emotions. I laughed…and laughed…and laughed…SERIOUSLY, guys, I want to start out by saying this entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe ranks right up there with Guardians as far as the laughs go. However, I don’t want you to just think of this as a comedy because it is so much more than that. So without going into too much detail let’s just give my accounting of each character.
From the trailer alone we all know that Hela is the goddess of Death who comes in to mess everything up. In her first few moments on screen, we realize she is pretty pissed off and then she goes and breaks Thor’s hammer. Just..like…that. From that act alone we realize she’s pretty powerful. Simply put she wants Asgard. So she kicks Thor AND Loki off the planet. Of course, there is more to the story, but like I said I don’t want to give out the entire movie so you will be surprised.
We start off seeing our magical long haired sexy god…sorry.I mean Thor…We start off seeing our main dude Thor get his precious hammer broken and then next thing we know he is on a far away planet. Sakaar is pretty different from our beloved Asgard. Thor is a prisoner. He’s being made to fight in a “gladiator style” way because of…
Jeff Goldblum’s exceptional character is The Grandmaster. He’s a wee bit off. (Remember I’m trying to be vague here guys) He’s the ruler of Saakar and wants Thor to fight his champion.
Thor then finds his “friend from work”. The Hulk has been on Saakar for awhile fighting for the Grandmaster and poor Bruce Banner is nowhere to be found. Personally, I’ve been missing both The Hulk AND Banner so I’m glad we are finally catching up on his story. Plus, seeing him and Thor interact is hijinks at it’s best. Speaking of hijinks, guess who shows up.
YES! The mischief-maker is back. Don’t worry they address his “death” pretty quickly and Tom Hiddleston gives us quite the performance. What is Loki REALLY up to?
Basically you NEED to go see this movie opening weekend. Like I said before, you go through lots of emotions. So many relationships are involved in Thor: Ragnarok. Family, friendship, new alliances, and more are all tested. At the end of the day, Thor: Ragnarok is exactly what we needed for the Thor franchise and Taika Waititi delivers on this film. Now let me throw you some:
