It’s almost Valentine’s day, so here is a fun little change up of the usual cereal bar treat. This one has a subtle salty sweetness that I’m sure you will enjoy!
- 11.1 oz box of Very Berry Cheerios
- 10 oz marshmallows
- 1 cup broken pretzel pieces
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- pink food coloring(optional)
- pink sprinkles(optional)
Spray a 9×13 pan with non stick cooking spray. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium low heat. Add the marshmallows and continue stirring until the marshmallows have completely melted. Add food coloring now if you would like to kick the pink factor up a notch.
Remove the pot from heat and stir in the whole box of cheerios and 1 cup of pretzels. Stir well until completely coated. I added about 3/4 cup of chocolate chips when the mixture cooled slightly so they wouldn’t melt when mixed in. Press the mixture in your greased pan.
Sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips on top and add pink sprinkles if you desire. I added some edible pink glitter to jazz my bars up a bit. Let the bars cool and cut into as many servings as you’d like.
These are a great option to send to school for a friendship party! Kids love cereal bar treats, I know mine do!
